WECO is currently looking for a talented
Production Supervisor to join our production department.


SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Supply Chain and Production Director, the
Production Supervisoris responsible for the daily planning and execution of the plant.

The Production Manager is the day-to-day liaison between sales, supply chain and production.

This person is responsible to meet production schedules, quality, cost objectives, the plant's health and safety, equipment and tools' overall maintenance.

The Production Supervisor coaches and manages, assembly teams. This person drives continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and streamline processes in a safe work environment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1)
People Management and Development

  • Be accountable for the health and safety of workers on site and compliance with regulations[YM1]
  • Monitor and follow up on goals and objectives set by the business
  • Supervise and evaluate production and subcontracting employees
  • Identify the need for resources, hire, supervise and train or oversee employees' training in the use of new equipment or production techniques
  • Manage and adjust priorities and communicate to the team clearly and on time
  • Facilitate scheduling for project onboarding, production
  • Review, alter and approve production employees' absences, vacation and overtime

Operations Management

  • Ensure the departmental budget is followed and the production is costeffective
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the manufacturing operations
  • Lead the achievement of the production schedule
  • Maintain good inventory management practices of raw materials and finished products
  • Develop production reporting procedures
  • Report monthly on given KPIs and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate to NCR, CAR or MRB resolution

3)
Other duties

  • Act as an onsite resource for daytoday production challenge solving
  • Collaborate with business partners such as QA and Supply Chain to identify the root cause, the required actions and ensure their implementation
  • Plan and implement improvements to methods of work, tools/equipment's, production systems and software
  • Manage the equipment maintenance schedules and recommend the replacement of machines
  • Other related tasks

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • College degree in a field related to mechanical production or Operations Management
  • Bilingualism; strong speaking and writing in English and French
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive experience with ERP systems (Symix/Syteline would be an asset)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate essential).
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Problemsolving, analytical, and synthesis skills.
  • Proactivity, autonomy, initiative, and dynamism
  • Ability to lead change, and lead by example through demonstrating high standards of performance
  • High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and reliability; ability to work with others to provide quality support to internal and external clients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; high emotional intelligence and winning attitude
