    Financial Analyst (Real Estate)

This is the job for you We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst for one of our clients in the insurance industry.

    What is in it for you:


    • Hourly salary of $43.00 to $51.38, based on experience.
    • 4-month contract.
    • Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
    Hybrid work: 2 remote days, and 3 days in the office (Tuesday to Thursday).

    Responsibilities:

    • Global Real Estate Platform Financial Planning / Forecasting, Reporting, and Analysis
    • Provide high-quality financial information and analysis for MIM's global real estate platform. Prepare and present the monthly financial results, including analysis of actual to budget variance, and progress against the objectives set out in the AIP scorecard.
    • Collaborate with the global real estate team and MIM finance teams to develop the annual plan and monthly forecast for MIM's global real estate platform, ensuring alignment with the product's offering/governing documents and property-level budget as appropriate.
    • Identify and implement continuous improvements with respect to finance processes, controls, and performance reporting and analysis.
    • Meet the needs of senior management through the provision of value-added analysis, with an in-depth understanding of MIM's global real estate business and broader market trends. This can include supporting the development and maintenance of the product-level profitability and fund performance models.
    • Assist with continuous enhancement of processes and controls related to financial and management reporting.
    • Provide input to the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of financial systems that support the global real estate business.
    • Private Markets and Global Real Estate Project & Strategy Support and Analysis
    • Provide commercial input and financial analysis and support for global real estate strategic initiatives and business projects, as needed. Where applicable, assist with the development of project financials and performance tracking of implemented initiatives.
    • Contribute to and provide input on other Segment and Group Finance initiatives as required.
    • Assist with other ad-hoc projects or analyses.
    • Private Markets Global Real Estate Fund Financial Reporting Deliverables and Analysis
    • Support AVP, Planning and Analysis, Global Real Estate Operations.
    • Provide oversight over the Fund's external and internal financial reporting deliverables and analysis.
    • Support and assist with the Fund's transactions and structural changes.
    • Collaborate with various internal Shared Service teams.
    • Collaborate with external consultants.
    What you will need to succeed:


    • University Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent accounting or finance professional credential.
    • 4-5 years of experience in finance, particularly in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis, with increasing levels of responsibility.
    • Experience with financial reporting processes, data and information management, controls, reporting, and analysis.
    • Experience in financial planning and forecasting.
    • Experience with accounting and financial systems in complex organizations.
    • Experience in the real estate industry and/or investment management industry is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
    • Proficient in analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Capable of evaluating intricate scenarios with a comprehensive, strategic perspective.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and priorities.
    • Strong quantitative and analytic approach to building business strategies and establishing measurement systems to monitor growth, efficiency, and profitability.
    • Organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Vision, respect for, and understanding of mission-driven institutions.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to cater the message to various stakeholders including senior executives.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the Division and with external stakeholders; ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence effectively.
