About the Role
RPM is seeking a ESG professional who will help us build our advisory business in the Americas.

This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of premium ESG consulting services to RPM's global client base with a focus on the Americas region.


This role requires an Environmental leader to shape our ESG practice in the Americas in terms of the service offerings and positioning in the market.

It will provide exposure to a range of clients, including financiers to the mining industry and mining company executives.


Experience working for a bank investment ESG risk team, conducting gap analysis, or assisting clients and companies in meeting international frameworks such as Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards as applied to the mining industry will be well regarded.


The role will be based in our Canadian operations, and you will work alongside our global team of environmental consultants across multiple assets and commodities.

Domestic and international travel may be required as part of this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the ESG portfolio in the Americas region.
  • Project management of client projects in a manner which meets timeframes, budgets and client needs.
  • Act as a senior team member on projects, managing a team of advisors if required.
  • Provide advice on compliance with environmental and emissions reporting legislation, guidelines and policies relevant to the regulatory authorities.
  • Provide input on the environmental and social aspects of feasibility studies.
  • Provide advice on sustainability planning and reporting and assist in delivery of client sustainability reports.
  • Conduct compliance assessments and due diligence reviews of environmental aspects of Projects.
  • Undertake quality assurance, including proofing, on major reports on behalf of other team members.
  • Provide informal leadership and mentoring to midlevel and junior staff (where applicable).
  • Identify and respond to business development opportunities to assist towards company growth.

About You

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability or similar.
  • Proven experience in sustainability, environmental management with exposure to a broad range of ESG issues.
  • Have experience writing and contributing to a broad range of project documentation i.e. presentations, reports, feasibility studies, etc.
  • The ability to communicate complex solutions to a variety of customer stakeholders, from technical to nontechnical.
  • Working knowledge of international frameworks applied to mining financing,
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building and management skills in complex business environments.
  • Technical report writing and presentations.
  • Strong command of the English language in both verbal and written form.
  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English is highly desirable but not essential for this role.
  • Previous consulting/advisory experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Based in and legally eligible to work in Canada.
