THE ROLE:


Overall responsibilities may include:


  • Manage and process biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly disbursement of multistate payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to 300 employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations.
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to bestpractice operations.
  • Audit W2 and T4 summary and slips each year end.
  • Communicate actively with all stakeholders to review crossdepartmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearend reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.).
  • Fulfill wage garnishment requirements by completing forms and adjusting payroll records.
  • Prepare recurring and adhoc reports as needed by management and accounting/finance.
  • Coordinate efforts between Payroll and Human Resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (status and personnel changes, tax withholding, benefit deductions, etc.).
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of federal, state and local regulatory changes and develops internal and external communications relative to these changes.
  • Develops procedures to ensure data integrity and interface integrity encompassing benefits, payroll, and other HRIS subsystems.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:


  • 7+ years of experience as a payroll manager for a multistate and international business.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). Will consider 710 years of relevant experience in lieu of CPP certification.
  • Experience with electronic file processing which includes TXT, CSV and XLS files.
  • Advanced skills in Excel as well as proficiency with other MS Office 365 products (Word, Teams, Outlook and SharePoint).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and solid financial acumen.
  • Detailed knowledge of payroll statutory requirements, including wage and garnishment and wage attachment legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
  • Works well as part of a team or with little to no supervision.
  • Takes initiative, enjoys a challenge and has a solutionoriented approach.
  • Professional attitude with a focus on privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals and groups, both inside and outside of the organization.
  • ADP experience is a plus.
