Quality Control Production Technician - New Hamburg, Canada - PESTELL PET PRODUCTS

Description

Implement, monitor, and document quality initiatives as well as provide quality support for production and manufacturing departments under the direction of the QA & Process Improvement Supervisor.

Perform a variety of routine to complex tasks including sampling, inspecting, record review and analyzing raw material, finished product, and work in progress for quality compliance withing Company and customer standards.

• Confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained
• Determine overall plant product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests and tests related to raw material and packaging
• Resolve major quality problems at production facilities, warehouses, and customer as required
• Audit internal quality control system for compliance

• Review shift schedule
• Verify Product Formula for Production
• Perform daily bench scale verification and weekly QA scale verification
• Inspect incoming packaging (jugs, pails, bags & boxes)
• Carry out incoming raw material inspection (bentonite & fragrances & additives)
• Place and log Hold Tags on nonconforming products (finished goods, raw materials and packaging)
• Carry out Finished Product Inspections
• Report nonconforming items to appropriate managers (Plant Mgr, Supervisor on shift)
• Ensure online quality checks are being performed properly and on a timely basis in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures and customer requirements
• Complete inspection and test reports
• Prepare test samples, set up and operate automated/manual laboratory instrumentation
• Investigate and troubleshoot quality equipments, procedural problems in conjunction with management
• Assist in investigating client complaints, find the root cause of the issue, and provide corrective actions
• Ability to operator production line(s) for relief purposes
• Assist in Scheduled Audits (Quality System Review, ISO9001)
• Other duties as assigned

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing facility
• Good understanding of production, warehouse, and plant procedures
• Experience in reviewing quality documents (SOPs, protocols, technical reports, etc.) for consistency and compliance. ISO experience is preferred
• Previous experience working directly on QC improvement initiatives
• Must have exceptional computer skills including the Office Suite
• Must have excellent communication, analytical and attention to detail skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• QA/QC post secondary education would be an asset
