Description
Work includes the specification, design, validation, test and verification of CMC products. Cockpit integration work includes all steps required to integrate and install the equipment onto the customers' aircraft.


Responsibilities

  • Creating conceptual cockpit layouts and architectures based on customer requirements
  • Creating Concept of Operations for on board equipment
  • UI Designs for cockpit equipment including displays and panels
  • Author/Analyse/Manage Human factors requirements using DOORS
  • Human factors analyses including Task and Workload Analyses
  • Demonstrate compliance to customer and certification regulation requirements
  • Author Human Factors documents for avionics equipment or cockpit certification. (Certification Plan, User Interface Design Document, Evaluation Plan/ Checklist, Human Factors evaluation report)
  • Support major program internal and customer reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR etc)
  • Identify issues/problems during development/certification and provide recommendations for resolution; identify program impacts and prepare technical descriptions
  • Work collaboratively within a project team of committed professionals

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering and; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in complex avionics systems.
  • Masters in Human Factors Engineering
  • Knowledge of civil aircraft Type Certification and Supplemental Type Certificate process for FAR PART 23/25, CS25/2
  • Knowledge of civil and/or military specification standards and practices: TSO C113a, TSO-C209, TSOc115, TSO C145, TSO C165, SAE AS8034B, SAE AS86296, MIL STD 147
  • Prior experience with avionics systems: PFD, Electronic Map, EICAS, FMS, GPS, TCAS, TAWS, WXR, SVS, HUD, EVS, etc.
