_DUTIES _

Under the direction of the Librarian, the Library Technician will provide research and reference assistance to faculty, staff and community Other duties and projects will be assigned as needed.

This position is entry-level friendly for recent Technician graduates as it affords a
- wide array of experience at a manageable pace


_REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS _:


  • Library Technician Diploma with experience with library computer systems, including catalogues and databases
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must be able to follow processing and deprocessing procedure for all library materials
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot library technology such as printers, computers, and other technologies
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability
  • Commitment to lifelong learning

_ASSETS _:


  • Experience or training with Library Guides and creation of online library resources
  • Experience or training monitoring and processing Inter-Library Loans
  • Experience in supervision
  • Experience with SITKA as a library systems software
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fluid workplace with a varying work pace
  • The ability to speak an Indigenous language
  • Experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
