Job Description:


The Assistant Clinical Services Manager, for Clinical Resource Team (CRT) will: support the day to day operations; provide leadership to an inter professional team to employ best practices; effectively communicate and lead processes in delivering safe, competent and ethically patient centered and cost effective services using an evidence-informed and stakeholders engagement approach.


This position will report to the Clinical Resource Team Clinical Services Manager (CSM) to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved and are in alignment with the corporate strategic plan.


Accountabilities:
Quality and Safe Patient Care

  • Support the implementation of best/leading practices, quality documentation and accountability models;
  • Facilitate an interprofessional collaborative approach to leadership, recognizing and maximizing the unique contribution of each team member;
  • Monitor and respond in a timely manner to quality, safety, risk and other performance/outcome indicators;
  • Promote and facilitate a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with best practices for the provision of care;
  • Collaborate with CSM colleagues to promote patient and family centered care in the areas CRT supports. Responds and addresses issues and or concerns identified by patients and families and internal and external stakeholders in a timely fashion;
  • Coordinate resolution of issues/concerns/ related to operational activities across the CRT program to ensure seamless leadership
  • Work collaboratively with the CSM and inter professional team members
- assess clinical and educational needs within the CRT on an ongoing basis

  • Other duties as assigned such as special projects.
Leadership and Collaboration

  • Works collaboratively with the CSM, and shares accountability for achieving program targets, managing risk, improving quality and safety and advancing patient care outcomes under the direction of the Director for Access and Flow, Scheduling Services, Infection Prevention and Control CRT, Registration and Admitting.
  • Works collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Educator, inpatient CSM's in reducing waste, adding value, raising standards, improving effectiveness and delivering high performance from the team;
  • Supports agreed upon evaluation and outcome criteria to drive timely delivery of outputs; analysis of data, interpretation of data and provide feedback to the team on findings;
  • Works collaboratively with the CSM and program Director to identify gaps in processes, policies and procedures and support the sustainable delivery of excellent patientcentered care;
  • Facilitates huddles and chairs the nursing team meetings under the direction of the CSM and attends other internal/external meetings as appropriate
People Development and Team Building

  • Fosters open communication, learning, and professional growth of the nursing staff
  • Provides the clinical expertise essential to support managers with effective problem solving and decision making
  • Initiates action and reports to the CSM, when staff behavior and/or performance do not meet professional standards and will independently manage the performance of a defined group of staff members.
  • In conjunction with the CSM manages the Attendance Awareness Program
  • In collaboration with the CSM manages the recruitment and selection process
  • Provide support to the CSM in the completion of performance
