Electrical Technical Officer (ETO)

Primary Location:
Tallinn, Estonia (current to November 2023) / Squamish, BC Canada (starting January 2024)

The Opportunity
The ETO is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of the ships electrical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Inspecting and maintaining the ships electrical systems, including power generation and distribution, lighting, and navigation system
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic equipment and systems
Overseeing the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems
Coordinating with other departments such as engineering and navigation to ensure smooth operations
Conducting safety inspections and adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
Ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment
Training and supervising other members of the electrical team
Assisting with emergency response procedures as needed

Qualifications

Degree or certification in electrical engineering or related field
Previous experience in electrical or electronic systems maintenance or related field
Strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with various departments
Fluent communication in English

Working Conditions

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
