    About the Opportunity

    Reporting to the Health Services Director, Heart Health, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of services and daily operations of people-centered Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Cardiac Short Stay Unit within Nova Scotia Health.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Providing leadership and direction for Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Cardiac Short Stay Unit staff to ensure the goals and objectives are continually met
    • Promoting and emphasizing people-centered care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team
    • Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness
    • Preparing and analyzing all relevant financial and clinical data, reports trends and identifies where corrective action is required for budget variances, implements changes as required and evaluates the effectiveness of the changes.
    • Working closely with the Heart Health Business Manager in the development and review of all contracts related to equipment and technology.
    • Managing process improvements for quality patient care and enhancing capacity
    • Representing their discipline or service/program by active and effective participation in meetings and committees
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum

    About You

    We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

    • Baccalaureate Degree from a health related discipline
    • Master's degree or Leadership certificate an asset
    • Minimum five years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment
    • Minimum five years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio
    • Must be registered with the relevant health discipline college/association
    • Previous leadership/management experience an asset
    • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges
    • Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work
    • Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction
    • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge
    • Proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, self-awareness, relationship and team building skills, and communication skills
    • Travel may be required
    • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

    Hours

    Permanent Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

    Compensation and Incentives

    $ $62.14 Hourly
