JOB SUMMARY:
- Moves, lifts, and stacks materials using forklift truck.
- Moves material between departments, ensuring that proper routing of material is followed.
- Ensures that sufficient supplies of materials, totes, bins, are on hand at each cell to facilitate 'Just In Time' production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Safely moves, lifts, and stacks materials using forklift.
- Moves material between departments, ensuring that the proper routing of material is followed.
- Ensures that sufficient supplies of materials, totes, bins are on hand at each cell to facilitate 'Just in Time' production.
- Feed production lines in an efficient manner as to not slow down production requirements.
- Ensure bins of finished product are stored in the proper place in the shipping/receiving area.
- Performs daily maintenance checks and records the same.
- Always operates forklift according to safety procedures and reports hazards immediately to Supervisor.
- Performs cycle counts as directed.
- Responsible for inventories being in their correct locations.
- Perform other duties as required from time to time by your Supervisor
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cooperates with Joint Health & Safety Committee and adheres to all safety rules and policies including working in a safe manner and wearing all personal protective equipment.
- Grade 12 education
- Good working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act is required.
- Current or recent certification and experience is preferred
- Understands IATF Quality) expectations of the role
Note: All forklift drivers will be trained in house by the certified forklift trainer._
EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:
- Forklift, computer, twoway radio/telephone
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to cope under stress of fastpaced environment.
- Handle multiple tasks while maintaining organization.
QUALITY & CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
- Responsible to adhere to all IATF 16946 / Quality policies and procedures
- Understand that Quality is EVERYONES responsibility
- Prevent quality issues from happening either by not starting the process or by stopping it before a nonconformity has occurred.
- Escalate Quality Issues immediately to my Supervisor or Manager
- STOP, CONTAIN & REPORT
- Attend all Quality training deemed required by Sodecia
SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPING:
- Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.
- Responsible to adhere to all Environmental Program ISO 14001 elements and attend training for same. Act in accordance to all Environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
- Responsible to report hazards immediate to my Supervisor or Manager.
- Follow and ensure the Company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
- Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to the safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure that your Department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times following all 5S program elements.
