Financial Analyst, Marketing - Toronto, Canada - Unilever

Background & Purpose of the JobWe are seeking a skilled and ambitious Financial Analyst to join our talented finance family. This role oversees end-to-end Brand Marking Investment (BMI) process for Unilever Canada and reports to the FET Finance Manager.
In this role you will provide value-added analytical and decision support to the Marketing and Finance leadership team as well as dive simplification & agility.
- Oversee BMI related budgeting process for total Company which includes annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and variance analysis
- Supporting business processes related to Advertising, Consumer Promotion, Merchandising, Coupons and Special Pack costs.
- Perform due diligence on all investment changes or budget amendments.
- Lead and coordinate monthly budget update process through Allocadia system.
- Effectively and efficiently track and communicate changes by working directly with Marketing Brand budget owners and Category Finance Managers.
- Act as a key business partner to help identify and drive opportunities to accelerate Return on Marketing Investment as well as to uncover inefficiencies to drive budget savings.
- Responsible for all BMI Balance Sheet accounts, including reconciliations, account maintenance and risk management. Perform monthly BMI journal entries.
- Manage SP&D (special packs & displayers) reporting toolkit through Power BI and continuously improve BMI Management reporting to drive visibility and timely decision making.
- Ensure appropriate financial and business controls are in place and adhered to
- Assist on ad hoc requests as required, including decision support and analytics
- Agility, curiosity and willingness to bring impactful change will be key to be successful in this role.
- Bachelor's degree required with 12 years of relevant finance experience and/or internships
- Working knowledge of SAP and Power BI a plus
- Resultsoriented change agent through demonstrated initiative and drive
- Strong analytical ability using Excel and knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be adept at working independently and in team atmosphere with excellent time management.
