The Role

Your Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Develops and executes full lifecycle recruitment for all corporate positions in Canada and the U.S., including generating job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and assessment.
  • Creates engaging job descriptions, job postings, and interview questions.
  • Reviews and maintains updates to our employment agreements and contracts.
  • Works with the marketing team to build employer brand initiatives.
  • Stays up to date on trends in the labour market, including compensation, total rewards, etc.

Seasonal Hiring

  • Leads Pedalheads seasonal hiring teams to execute precamp recruitment and retention strategies and set hiring targets.
  • Motivates teams to promote the Pedalheads fun camp instructor experience
  • Conducts regular checkins with seasonal hiring teams to ensure their hiring timelines are met.
  • Develops employee communications templates for returning and new hires to maintain connections.
  • Be a lead resource when hiring teams are unavailable to conduct hiring, particularly during our busy season May-August.
  • Trains and advises hiring teams on interviewing techniques and assessment methods.
  • Develops strategy for regional teams to develop networks with local universities/colleges to build a coop/internship program for seasonal roles.

Onboarding

  • Creates an engaging onboarding program to enhance the new hire experience, both pre
- and post-employment.

  • Reviews and improve the process for collecting pre
- and post-employment documentation such as signed contracts, payroll information, reference/character checks, background checks, and other required certifications.

  • Sets up onboarding agendas, conducts onboarding presentations, and creates a welcoming environment for new fulltime hires.
  • Works with hiring manager to create new employee announcement and completion of employee departure checklist

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years working in a talent acquisition role, a minimum 2 years managing teams
  • Experience hiring youths 1624 and highvolume recruitment an asset
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites like LinkedIn, Facebook
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems an asset, particularly ADP Workforce Now
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Canadian and US hiring markets as asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete projects within tight deadlines
