About the Role

We are looking for a Master Data Management (MDM) Analyst to join our Data Science team. The MDM Analyst deploys standard processes and governance rules to source, collect, and maintain business data.

The MDM Analyst works closely with the business and IT functions to ensure the quality, consistency, and accessibility of all business data.


In this role, you will leverage your 4+ years of progressive experience working in the data quality, data management, and governance space to provide data governance and ensures data integrity by coordinating data management efforts across the OCS.

You will troubleshoot issues related to master data management and identify opportunities for improving data management processes.

In this role, you will support operations by monitoring and analyzing master data, key data, and master relationship data within the OCS.

About Your Day

  • Ensure master data integrity in key systems and maintain the processes to support the data quality.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
  • Ensure quality of master data in Modern Data Platform
  • Develop and document of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity
  • Define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable
  • Assist with resolving data quality problems, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
  • Analyze and resolve data initiative issues and manage revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards
  • Assist in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements
  • Conduct data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access
  • Provide data consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to clients to improve client database systems
  • Develop and maintain data cataloging including metadata, data curation, knowledge management and a "data marketplace" to enable ease of understanding OCS data assets
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, Wholesale teams to identify opportunities for business process improvements, and make recommendation for system modifications
About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and/or combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years of progressive experience working in data quality, data management, and governance space within the Azure environment
  • Consulting background is an asset
  • Strong SQL / SQL query skills. Track record with JSON, XML, and Databricks Parquet data structures and transformations
  • Strong knowledge of Cloudbased capabilities and platforms, with experience in Azure and Microsoft Purview an asset
  • Prior experience on MDM / data standardization and consolidation initiatives is an asset
  • Hands-On experience of Kanban and Agile work environment
  • Experience with leading edge industry tools enabling data stewardship and data cataloging, with experience in Purview an asset
  • Practical expertise with data management, data architecture and big data technologies an asset
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing Data Governance, Data Policy, and Data Stewardship
  • Demonstrated capability of enabling practical and value driven Master Data Management program in working with Modern Data Platform and Data Engineering
  • Strong understanding of records and information management and data security and privacy concepts
  • Must have a technical ability and be able to implement data integration, data modeling, MDM workflow, etc. through a firsthand understanding
  • Expert communication skills (verbal and written), ability to communicate progress on initiatives in Sprint Reviews and Demos
