Overview

Seeking creatives to help make an impact As the region's only public art gallery, the Woodstock Art Gallery fosters the wellbeing of our community by preserving our local artistic heritage and cultivating new expressions and experiences of art.

The Woodstock Art Gallery offers a variety of different work experiences in an active, inclusive, and encouraging environment.

Students are given many responsibilities and opportunities to learn and develop and receive a solid foundation in the operations of an innovative municipal gallery.


Available Positions

Front Desk Attendant:
welcomes visitors to the Gallery and assists with processing memberships, gift shops sales, special events and daily operations.

Cultural Communications Assistant:

assists with a wide range of tasks regarding marketing and communications for the Woodstock Art Gallery and Woodstock Museum, including creating social media and newsletter content.


Curatorial/Collections Assistant:
works hands-on with the Gallery's growing art collection and assists in the organization, research, and development of exhibitions.

Assistant Art Instructors (2 positions):works with professional Art Educators andassists with the set up and delivery of art workshops and off-site community events geared at children ages 5 to 12.

Qualifications
To be considered for the above positions, applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 and must be returning to a post-secondary school.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of database management
  • Experience dealing with retail transactions, research, writing and photography
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

Even better if you have:

  • An interest in Art History or Studio Art
  • Standard First Aid, CPR/AED certification

Application Details

  • Salary range is $ $17.00 per hour.
  • Scheduled 35hour work week which will include weekends and alternate shift hours.
  • May be required to work overtime.
