    Your role:

    CBC has an amazing opportunity for you to join our Current Affairs Radio team in Winnipeg. As an Associate Producer you will have a role both in creating journalistic content for the radio programs as well as operating the sound board during the live show.

    We are looking for a candidate with the following:
    • A passion, knowledge, and understanding of Manitoba and its diversity of communities
    • In-depth knowledge of local and national news
    • A good writer
    • Excellent production skills including operation of sound board during live programming
    • Knowledge of the Manitoba music scene; experience with music programming
    • a sense of curiosity about the workings of analog and digital audio systems - interest in expanding technical knowledge
    • comfortable with the basics of audio signal flow in a studio environment
    • strong logic and problem-solving skills
    • fundamental understanding of and experience with basic audio tools such as microphones, signal metres, EQ, digital audio recording devices, etc.
    • creative audio mixing skills are an asset (musician, mixing podcasts, home or studio recording experience, DJ'ing etc.)
    • Must have the ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently, and meet deadlines
    • Innovative, flexible and calm under pressure
    • Takes direction well, works cooperatively but also a self-starter
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Comfortable interacting and presenting material live on-air
    • Innovative, with proven ability to use sound creatively
    • Open to new ideas and approaches
    • An understanding that you are working for a journalistic organization, which requires flexibility in shifts including early mornings, evening and weekend work
    • Job requires a university degree or equivalent
    • Job requires experience which is directly related to editorial chase and/or technical operations.
