Opportunity:


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing content strategies for segment structure and content based on stakeholder research, data analysis, best practices and a strong understanding of prospective audiences that meet the evolving needs of the campus community and align with the university's vision and priorities;
  • Developing original web copy, ensuring content is search engine optimized (SEO);
  • Assessing and organizing existing and new website content;
  • Identifying gaps in information, organization or understanding and executing content development projects to implement solutions;
  • Collaborating with the Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure alignment on branding, web strategy and projects;
  • Reviewing and analyzing market research and internal data sources to better understand target audiences and market opportunities;
  • Building collaborative relationships with clients across the university to provide support and ensure ongoing dialogue of feedback and sharing;
  • Defining and managing the editorial and developmental workflow for client projects from concept through production and delivery;
  • Coordinating the content publishing process, including scheduling, updating, and archiving content;
  • Ensuring consistency and quality in content across the MacEwan University website, identifying and resolving any content issues;
  • Assisting with the creation and regular updates of a website style guide;
  • Coordinating the publication of regular content updates on MacEwan web properties for sustainment; and
  • Coordinating the integration of multimedia elements, such as images, videos, and infographics into web content.

SKILLS:


You will have:

  • Knowledge of best practices for web design, including responsive design, accessibility standards, information architecture and user experience;
  • Excellent content writing, editing and proofreading skills, with knowledge of Chicago and AP styles;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups;
  • The ability to remain adaptable and work simultaneously on multiple projects, maintain commitments, and meet strict deadlines in a fastpaced work environment;
  • A high level of initiative and strong problemsolving, organization, and project management skills;
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy; and

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A minimum of a degree in communications or marketing, with a focus in design, digital marketing, interaction design, digital experience design, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in writing for the web, content management and online content strategy, including user experience, search engine optimization and accessibility.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Training or experience in project management is considered an asset.
  • Experience with HTML is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a postsecondary environment is considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
