This Analyst role will directly support our Canadian fixed income trading team which are active market participants in multiple asset classes including Government Bonds, Provincial Bonds and Interest Rate Derivatives.

Bank of America is also Primary Dealer of Government of Canada bonds and are active in several provincial syndicates and corporate debt new issuance.

The trading desk provides liquidity to a broad range of institutional clients including asset managers, pension plans, banks, and hedge funds.

Responsibilities
As an analyst your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with sales, trading, and hedging activities
  • Helping to originate, structure, and model transactions
  • Assessing market trends and provide quantitative data for clients
  • Performing market and quantitative research analysis
  • Assisting in structuring, pricing, and executing trades
  • Handling daytoday transaction needs, including reconciliation and clearing services

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking, and distinguished written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of macro economics as well as equity, fixed income, mortgagerelated, and derivative products is a significant asset
  • Should have a reasonable comfort level programming with Windowbased development tools including Visual Basic; familiarity with SQL and database design is a plus
  • Extensive Excel and modeling skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and willingness to ask tough questions
  • Solid leadership, team, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Can multitask and prioritize in a demanding environment
  • Able to generate complex solutions across multiple product platforms
  • Strong interest in global financial markets
  • Highly motivated with a drive to succeed
  • Keen interest in complex structures
  • Adapts easily to constantly changing environment
