Overview


Reporting to the Operations & Production Supervisor, with a dotted line reporting into the Repack Supervisor/Machine Specialist, the Warehouse Operator plays a pivotal role in our operations, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of products while fostering a culture of safety and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks and product handling, order fulfillment, inventory management and administration, and performing Giro machine operation (including routine maintenance, quality control checks and troubleshooting) following continual training with Repack Supervisor/Machine Specialist.

Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and excellent communication skills are essential.

The ability to work under pressure, build effective relationships, and exhibit integrity and good judgement in all activities is crucial.


Accountabilities

  • Performs various warehouse activities, including loading and unloading trucks, handling product on the warehouse floor and filling orders in accordance with standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Maintains accurate receiving, inventory, and shipping records, documenting information in computerized files in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Promotes a clean and organized warehouse floor, ensuring a safe working environment through diligent maintenance and enforcement of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Other warehouse duties as assigned by the Operations & Production Supervisor during production downtimes.
  • Maintains production efficiency while operating all required tools and machinery in a safe, efficient, cost effective and productive manner, with the resulting product adhering to company quality and food safety requirements.
  • Ensures customer specifications and volumes are maintained at established levels according to commodity being packed for both inbound and outbound items; adheres to First In First Out (FIFO) inventory principles.
  • Performs quality control checks during machine operation, ensuing that product passes the specified quality specifications; performs regular maintenance of machines to ensure minimum downtime in production.
  • Other machine operator duties as assigned by the Repack Supervisor/Machine Specialist during warehouse downtimes, including picking and loading/unloading trucks.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing, including operation of forklift and pallet jack machine(s).
  • Knowledge of MS Applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including active listening and effective communication of information and ideas through a variety of mediums to diverse audiences.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with a willingness to learn the operation and maintenace of the Giro machine (packaging machine).
  • Demonstrable integrity, trust, and safety in all activities, working cooperatively within a team environment, as well as working independently.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Strong desire to exceed customer expectations and promote a customerfocused culture in alignment with the company's core values, guiding principles, and goals.
