    Overview

    To lead and secure successful execution of both Activation and Advocacy/Engagement efforts & programs for the BF portfolio in their respective territory, by working collaboratively with the Senior Advocacy and Engagement Manager, sales territory managers and key external partners/stakeholders to identify activation & engagement opportunities as well as executing all activations according to budget, timelines and brand guidelines.

    This position requires a true passion, strong brand knowledge and a flair for a Premium & Super Premium brand portfolio. This position requires a true eagerness to learn and develop, specifically in the Trade and Consumer Advocacy area. The role will involve ongoing collaboration with internal key stakeholders such as: provincial sales teams, sales territory managers, and others, as well as with Brown Forman partner stakeholders, and external ones such as trade (. bartenders, operators, third-space activation partners (. Festivals, events) and others.

    Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Advocacy and Engagement Manager to learn and develop the Advocate area of the position, especially in Brand Education, Storytelling and Training efforts with Trade and Consumers
  • Collaborate with territory managers to identify activation and event opportunities in their assigned territory
  • Planning with internal and external partners
  • Execute events within budgetary guidelines
  • Execute On-Premise programs/promotions within diverse accounts
  • Build and grow relationships with key stakeholders and contacts including, clients, suppliers, agency partners, influencers and other industry players.
  • Develop and communicate the event calendar to stakeholders
  • Coordinate merchandising and POS material for assigned promotions
  • Plan and Execute promotions/brand events in accordance to guidelines
  • Create post reports for all events/promotions in a timely manner
  • Utilize social media tools according to the customer needs and within company guidelines
  • Ensure compliance of all activations to the local/provincial regulations and internal company guidelines
  • Report on competitive activities within accounts and offer constructive suggestions
  • Gather event insights and present results, findings and comments to leadership
  • Recruit key gatekeepers for selected accounts and build relationships with them
  • Execute employee training through work-withs
  • Execute customer staff training (cocktail trends, hands-on training)
  • Develop and execute promotional activities at select sponsorship events
  • Execute media events, drive brand messaging with key media outlets, and become the voice for the brand
  • Conduct training for agency promotional team members
  • Drive distribution, visibility and endorsement of Brands in top on-trade and off-trade outlets in key markets
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • 2 years of promotional and/or sales/ and/or trade experience (preferred within alcohol beverages area and related)
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Spirits certification
  • Trained mixologist capable of bartending at a level consistent with Trend trend-leading account bartender in Canada
  • Excellent Negotiation and Influencing Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, listening and written
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • Excellent sales and promotional background
  • Seek out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive
  • Demonstrated capability in training
  • Knowledge of Liquor Board Regulations, market trends and competition
  • Previous experience with alcohol beverages brands preferred ( especially premium and super premium brands)
