Description

As a Controls Specialist within our GTA office, you will excel in in a multi-faceted role supporting our clients in the Automation Solutions space.

You will develop and articulate solutions to complex client automation problems, oversee project execution at a high level providing conceptual and technical expertise and develop and maintain client relationships.

Ultimately, you will provide superior client experiences partnering with your internal team to cohesively deliver a vision, energy, and intensity that exceeds client expectations.


What Would a Typical Day Look Like?

  • Technically, Controls Specialists will work on various stages of automation and control projects including electrical design, PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA systems, and troubleshooting/testing/debugging
  • Exercise Project Management skills by developing project schedules and budgets in collaboration with clients and internal project management resources, ensuring completion of all project deliverables to the satisfaction of the client while fostering a culture of safety
  • Participate in planning sessions that will identify industry business drivers and trends that will serve as the basis for developing key offerings to our clients, attend client field service and emergency calls and partake in customer meetings sharing your technical expertise

What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?

  • Postsecondary degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized engineering faculty or equivalent qualification
  • 35 years' experience in the Automation industry as an Engineer, Technologist and/or project
- manager, technically delivering on projects

  • Proven track record in the design, procurement, programming, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems including: PLCs: Rockwell, Siemens would be an asset; HMI's: Rockwell Plant PAX, (Wonderware, Siemens and Delta V would be an asset); Instrumentation; VFD's and Servo's; Network design and implementation
  • Experience with network architecture design, system virtualization and AutoCAD/Electrical Design
  • A proven selfstarter with a positive, "cando" attitude who is motivated by solving complex
- challenges

  • Strong clientfocused approach, dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences to our internal and external customers
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and develop a team to achieve results
  • Ability to multitask, exercise good judgment and prioritize workload through outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with highly developed relationship
- management expertise, able to interact with various levels within the clients' organization

  • Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; Controls Specialists at JMP should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada
