Description
Western Hard Chrome is a shop located in Edmonton with a 55+ year history of plating, manufacturing, and re-manufacturing expertise.
The Shop Maintenance Technician will repairs, maintains, installs, and troubleshoots industrial equipment and facilities to promote a safe and effective work environment.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Completes the inspection, installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and removal of industrial equipment, such as cranes, pumps, motors, lathes, grinders, electrical and ventilation equipment, and hydraulic systems.
- Capable of performing basic welding and fabrication activities.
- Takes steps identified by the Safety Committee to resolve safety concerns.
- Performs indoor and outdoor housekeeping activities as required.
- Supports inventory counts of supplies and consumables.
- Completes and stores maintenance records.
- Supports and monitors work performed by outside service companies.
- Responds to emergency and security alarms.
- Provides backup support for other departments, specifically Shipping / Receiving.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following WHC policies and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Performs other duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years maintenance, repair, or service experience preferred in a shop.
- Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve equipment issues.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and other similar tools.
- Working knowledge of mechanical / technical skills to allow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Able to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
- Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- This position will require overtime and may require an "oncall" work schedule in addition to standard hours of work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy.

Salary:
$24.00-$28.00 per hour
