The role...
The schedule...

This position will be on a
ROTATING continental nights shifts (12-hour shifts, nights) and overtime available as required.

Shift times are 7 pm to 7 am
Weekends are included within the production schedule.

& the duties...

  • Support Quality Initiatives and assist in the implementation
  • Continually monitor Production personnel to ensure compliance with Client Requirements (Work Order/drawings) and JFE Shoji Power Canada Standards
  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Inspects inprocess production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to Shift Leader
  • Approves finished products (Final Inspection) by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for rework, and approving rework processes
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes rework and waste, and inputs data into quality database
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Ensure Shop Floor Personnel (including Maintenance) adheres to proper handling of nonconforming product
  • Issue Quality Alerts and communicate to Production floor (includes obtaining signatures for acknowledgment).
  • New document implementation and training (including sign off from Production)
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Develop and Support Continuous Improvement Ideas to improve process/procedures

Your skills & experience...

  • One to two years' quality inspector experience an asset
  • Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma an asset
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytic skills
  • Documentation skills
  • Blueprint reading
