- Our client is seeking the services of a Senior Project Manager (PM3) with management consulting competencies to lead the modernization of EMRs across the client's community care settings province-wide.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, healthcare industry knowledge, change management, and technical expertise to drive the successful modernization of primary care delivery models.
- Responsibilities include project planning, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, risk management, change management, and training.
- This Senior Project Manager role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- The key deliverables and activities for the client EMR Modernization Project Manager include but are not limited to the following:
- Project Charter: Develop a comprehensive project charter outlining project scope, objectives, stakeholders, and success criteria.
- Stakeholder Analysis and Communication Plan: Conduct stakeholder analysis and develop a communication plan to ensure effective engagement and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- EMR System Selection and Procurement: Lead the process of selecting and procuring the appropriate EMR system, including vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and procurement activities.
- Integration Plan: Develop and execute a detailed integration plan to seamlessly integrate the EMR system with existing eHealthNB infrastructure and workflows.
- Training Program: Design and implement a comprehensive training program for healthcare professionals and staff to ensure effective adoption and utilization of the new EMR system.
- Quality Management Plan: Establish and execute a quality management plan to ensure that the implemented EMR system meets functional requirements, usability standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of project plans, requirements, decisions, and actions taken throughout the project lifecycle, including meeting minutes, status reports, and change requests.
- Steering Committee Presentation: Prepare and deliver presentations to the Steering Committee to provide updates on project progress, discuss key decisions, and address any issues or risks that require their attention.
- Project Evaluation and Lessons Learned: Conduct post-implementation reviews and evaluations to assess project performance against key metrics and identify lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Formulates statements of management, scientific, and business problems, establishes procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new, or modified computer systems to solve these problems, and obtains approval thereof.
- Defines and documents the objectives for the project, determines budgetary requirements, the composition, roles and responsibilities, and terms of reference for the project team.
- Manages the project during the development, implementation, and operations start-up by ensuring that resources from all service areas are made available
- Reports progress of the project on an ongoing basis, and at scheduled points in the life cycle to the sponsors of the project.
- Evaluate proposed computer systems to determine technical feasibility, functional adequacy, and estimated costs for implementation and operation.
- Meets in conference with program managers and other cognizant officials and states problems in a form capable of being solved.
- Prepares plans, charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems. Works with a variety of scientific, business, or engineering tools requiring a sound knowledge of mathematics and management sciences.
- Must have a demonstrated capability of managing a team of specialists, analysts, and programmers.
- A University bachelor-level degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Recent and relevant experience in a Senior Project Manager role
- Project Management experience in the digital health / eHealth space in a Canadian jurisdiction
- IM/IT experience
- The resource must be available to work on location in Fredericton
- Demonstrated experience with technology projects in the eHealth space – preference given for this experience having been obtained in the role of Project Manager
- Strong skills and experience in communication planning, coordination, and implementation including presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing large, complex projects that cross multiple business units and organizations (more than 4 or 5), involve multiple direct project participants (more than 15), operate for an extended period of time (more than 1 year), and involve addressing business transformation and technical issues
- Demonstrated experience in specific project execution activities including issue/risk management, change control, implementation, and transition
- Experience and demonstrated capability in overseeing a team of specialists on information technology development projects
- Demonstrated experience with EMR initiatives in a Canadian context.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change, facilitate training, and drive adoption of new technologies and care delivery models.
- Recognized Project Management certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Bilingual working competencies (English and French) are considered an asset.
- Primarily Remote- after initial onboarding this role will be primarily remote, with occasional visits to the Fredericton office.
- Expect 1-3 days per month in office.
