Responsibilities:


Maintains and controls the automated purchase requisition and purchase order tracking system including receiving and reviewing requisitions and explaining purchasing policies and guidelines.

Enters requisition data into the tracking system, issues, distributes and files signed purchase orders, and traces and follows up on overdue orders.

Performs a variety of administrative, clerical and secretarial duties such as responding to routine telephone inquiries, opening, sorting and distributing incoming mail.

Preparing routine correspondence, taking minutes, and formatting, editing and proof-reading tender documents, spreadsheets, contracts, etc. Processes routine purchase orders, liaising with vendors, preparing purchase orders and obtaining authorizations.

Provides administrative support for the tendering process and the requests for quotations, proposals or qualifications process such as compiling tender data, assigning tender numbers, and maintaining tender log.

Processes the disposal of corporate asset, receiving disposal authorizations, assigning disposal numbers, and preparing disposal orders. Processes pay and leave requests for the Purchasing Section.


Qualifications:


EDUCATION


Grade 12 graduation, or equivalent, including typing, word processing and general commercial courses, supplemented by short courses in job related computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc) at an intermediate level.

Recruitment Process:

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.


Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week.

This position is full-time temporary to November 30, 2023.


Work Designation:

Remote

This positions offers the ability to work predominately in a remote capacity within B.C. The business will request onsite presence at times for operational reasons.


Rate of Pay:

Salary starting from $4,690 to $5,628 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity)

The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan upon eligibility.
