Description
About the Position:
Lambton College of Applied Arts & Technology invites applications from qualified and passionate individuals interested in teaching Advanced Project Management & Strategic Leadership.
This role is part-time, commencing September . Classes will be held in person or online at the Lambton College Centre for Graduate Studies, located at the St. Paul's University campus in Ottawa, Ontario.
Rate of pay is to be determined at time of hire in accordance with education & qualifications based on our classification form in the Collective Agreement.
Specific Accountabilities:
•Creating a positive teaching and learning environment; being available for email contact on a daily basis (week days);
•Preparing lesson plans and providing instruction using a variety of teaching techniques and current technologies that enhance student success;
•Delivering courses in accordance with curriculum standards;
•Preparing, administering, and grading assignments, quizzes, and examinations in a timely manner;
•Monitoring student performance, maintaining progress reports and encouraging their success;
•Consulting with colleagues as required;
•Follow the Academic Calendar and other policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
We would prefer someone with certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) but will also consider applicants who have certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management with significant related work experience in the field.
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be preferred.
Candidates must be excellent communicators with the ability to provide service to a diverse student population. They must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff and be a co-operative team player who operates under a student centered philosophy. They must be able to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners, and have some experience in instructional technology. Computer skills are required with experience using Microsoft applications.
