Based out of North West's Winnipeg Corporate Office, and reporting directly to the Vice President, Legal and Corporate Secretary, the
Legal Assistant - Corporate is accountable to provide a full range of services to the North West group of companies.

NWC is a leading retailer to under-served rural communities and urban neighbourhood markets in the following regions: Northern Canada, Western Canada, rural Alaska, the South Pacific islands, and the Caribbean.
Your Role:
- Registration and maintenance of business names
- Maintenance of minute books and corporate database
- Draft correspondence, proofread and format legal documents
- Preparation of simple contracts based on contract templates
- Preparation of closing books (paper/electronic)
- Assist Vice President, Legal & Corporate Secretary with Board matters, as needed, including arranging travel for the Board of Directors
- Other duties as requested by the Vice President, Legal and Corporate Secretary
Desired Skills & Experience:
- _A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position_
- Highly organized, detailoriented with strong writing, proof reading and verbal skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to be resourceful and work with mínimal instruction or supervision
- Ability to work within tight timelines to meet deadlines, reassessing priorities as needed
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to communicate professionally with the Board of Directors, internal clients, external counsel and other business partners
