Senior Manager Supply Chain Quality Services, the role of the

Quality Specialist includes performing and documenting Supplier quality audits, assessments, oversights, resolve and prevent quality problems related to the procurement of products and services, developing, maintaining, and trending Supplier quality performance. This role you will be responsible for acting as the person of contact with clients in support of daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as the supply chain representative.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Quality Specialist will carry out the following duties in order to plan, coordinate and perform quality assignments:

  • Travel frequently, up to 50% of working time, to supplier's and supplier's sub-supplier locations in Canada, United States, and outside North America, as part of their regular job function (i.e. audits, assessments, oversights, surveillance inspections, supplier development, corrective action follow-up, training, and workshops).
  • Performing and documenting Supplier quality audits, assessments and oversight
  • When Supplier nonconformances are detected, initiate and follow up to completion corrective action to correct the problem and prevent recurrence.
  • Developing and maintaining Supplier performance quality information systems, including development of key metrics for Supplier performance monitoring/trend reporting, health indexes, and risk assessment tools.
  • Collecting and analyzing Supplier's quality performance data to determine trends, recommend corrective and preventative actions, and initiate required actions in a timely manner to drive improvement.
  • Preparing various Supplier performance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) and Supplier health index metrics. This includes delivering presentations to OPG and Suppliers executives.
  • Developing and implementing mitigation and escalation plans for poor performing Suppliers, including performance reviews with top problematic Suppliers.
  • Acting independently with limited supervision during Supplier audits, source inspections, oversights, assessments.
  • Make decisions on the Supplier's quality program effectiveness and status on ASL.

EDUCATION

  • 4yearUuniversity Degree in Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Certification as lead auditor or in a special process like NDE, Welding, Heat Treatment, etc. would be considered as an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • We are seeking a resultsorientated Quality Specialist with the following:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in a quality assurance, oversight/surveillance and auditing environment;
  • Understanding of the design, fabrication, assembly, testing and installation practices in order to assess capabilities of manufacturer's facilities;
  • Familiarity with the practices, routines and standards followed within the commercial and industrial field;
  • Experience in the testing and inspection of various materials, engineered components and services, to understand the various problems and remedial procedures required, and to assist in the preparation of inspection procedures;
  • Knowledge of inspection to specification, production planning and scheduling, QA, designing, and dealing with people on controversial matters;
  • Experience in the commercial aspects of contracts, contract law and business administration;
