    Description
    Responsible for cutting and trimming meat, poultry, and fish into portions that are suitable for sale or consumption. This involves using knives, saws, and other cutting tools to separate different cuts of meat.
    • Weigh and package meat for sale.
    This includes wrapping meat in butcher paper, vacuum-sealing it, or placing it in trays for display in the store.
    • Have a deep understanding of different types of meat and methods for each cut.
    • Keep their work area clean and sanitized to ensure food safety.
    This includes regularly cleaning cutting tools and surfaces, as well as following proper food handling procedures.
    • May be responsible for managing inventory, including ordering meat from suppliers, rotating stock to ensure freshness, and monitoring levels to avoid shortages or waste.
    • Maintain and occasionally repair their equipment, such as knives, saws, and meat grinders, to ensure they remain in good working condition.
    • Butchers must adhere to local health and safety regulations,
