Since 1956, The Milky Way Team has a passion for service and delivers exceptional ice cream products to the Saskatchewan Marketplace.

Team members will perform various duties at the Victoria Avenue location including customer service, sales, maintenance, and concession responsibilities.


Job Description - General Manager

GENERAL MANAGER
The General Manager is a key part of the day-to-day operations team for The Milky Way.

They are responsible for the successful planning and coordination of the storefront, offering excellent customer service and overseeing the operations of a quick-service restaurant environment that delivers ice cream products, food, drink, and apparel.

Specifically, they will oversee store operations & customer service, including P&L responsibility, employee hiring, training, scheduling and management, food safety, inventory, regulatory compliance, reporting and store efficiency and optimization.

The General Manager will report to the ownership group and work in parallel with assistant managers or shift supervisors.


RESPONSIBILITES

  • Lead in the implementation of a professional, positive, employee and customer experience
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and management of the organization's policies and programs, including the implementation and administration of financial and administrative controls
  • Conduct and participate in planning sessions with Ownership group in order to align work objectives with corporate strategies
  • Deliver customer orders
  • Organize and operate front and back of house, including but not limited to points of sale, inventory, store orders, data entry, training, and scheduling.
  • Working with our leadership team, the successful applicant will recruit, hire, train, supervise and coach Team Members
  • Maintain compliance with all Municipal, Local, Provincial and Federal regulations including safety and sanitation regulations
  • Create work schedules and deliver timely accurate reports
  • Inventory ordering and Inventory management
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage ice cream preparation
  • Maintain recipes, pricing, and portion control
  • Maintain temperature logs, receiving logs and packing lists, inventory control logs, Store Self-Assessment audits, sales and tip data
  • Proactively anticipate, resolve, and prevent issues utilizing innovative and practical solutions
  • Manage resources effectively by identifying efficiencies and best practices, focusing on industry best practices and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Milky Way products and services.
  • Ensure the Milky Way Storefront is a safe place for both customers and employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: College Diploma, University Degree or 5Year Experience in Food Service or Hospitality Industry
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, oral and visual.
  • Ability to keep inventory organized.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • POS Experience, Mac or MS office Experience
  • Culinary experience creating ice creams and beverages a plus
  • Experience fixing /maintaining Mechanical Equip
