Description

Purpose of Position:


  • To ensure all products meet industry standards
  • To reduce nonconformances and manufacturing errors that may lead to returned products.

Summary Responsibilities:


Daily Quality Inspections


Conducts product and raw material inspections daily to ensure quality that meets industry standards, for continuous quality improvement and to reduce scrap and returned products.


Corrective Action
Make corrections based on the inspections, checking, and testing of Anchor's products


Improvements

  • Initiates and participates collaboratively in continuous improvement task forces and teams to address manufacturing process, nonconforming materials and discontinuity problems affecting quality
  • Analyzing inspection and testing records to report findings and recommending corrective action
  • Assisting in reviewing mix designs and concrete batch testing results

Recording

  • Records and organizes all quality tests electronically
  • Analyzes results
  • Prepares written reports
  • Enters data daily on product, batch reports, material inspections, and test data
  • Assists in material and product test performance and nonconformance reports for the Management Group
  • Proactively presenting reports and findings at meetings when required
  • Performs "root cause analysis" and makes recommendations to solve problems so they are unlikely to occur again

Other Duties

  • Educating staff in quality standards and methods of inspection

Education (Minimum)**:


  • Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist diploma

Experience (Minimum)**:


  • Site experience with reinforced concrete or construction is considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Welldeveloped skills in inspection, measuring and testing equipment used in concrete manufacturing is considered an asset
  • Understands quality assurance and calibration procedures
  • Able to read blueprints and specifications
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Able to work in a team environment without direct supervision
