Service Technician will provide technical support services to customers in the field and in shop.

This includes the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of air compressors, air dryers, receivers, piping, and air treatment systems.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Comprehend customer requirements; make appropriate recommendations while building a positive relationship with customers
  • Promote all company products, services, and solutions; for new and used equipment, accessories, rentals, preventative maintenance, air audits, diagnosing, etc.
  • Serve existing and new accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems using company service procedures
  • Study system requirements; order and gather components / parts; completes installation, service and repairs; verify customer concerns have been rectified
  • Perform all tasks independently in a timely and efficient manor while working within companies COR safety program and policy manual; follow all customer site requirements (PPE etc.)
  • Maintain rapport with customer; suggest improved methods and system improvements while communicating value and increasing the customer's awareness on how our services could benefit their operations
  • Document service with detailed reports, forms, logs and records supporting step by step involvement with each task
  • Maintain customer confidence by being punctual, professional, and focused on task while conveying technical training excellence
  • Keep personal equipment and tools operating in a safe and efficient manner; maintain supplies and inventory; perform preventative maintenance on fleet and shop equipment
  • Participates in educational opportunities; on and off site technical schools; professional publications; product seminars; customer satisfaction instruction; safety programs relevant to the industry
  • Empower team members, share ideas, training, experiences across organization
  • Will be responsible to the service support planners, inside Support Manager and ultimately the Service Manager who will provide daily instruction, schedule priorities, daily work flow, procedures and protocol
  • Engage with all staff and departments within the organization
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company vision, mission, values and goals in all interaction with customers, coworkers and suppliers
  • Protect the financial and legal welfare of the company while making day to day decisions
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications/Skills Required Must be willing to fulfill the role and responsibilities set forth by the company; must have a valid class 5 driver's license with out a GDL; driver's abstract; must be bondable and insurable; must have reliable transportation to and from office location

  • Must have a Millwright, Automotive, Electrician or Heavy Duty Mechanic trade certificate with Red Seal
  • Must be comfortable working with electrical up to 600VAC
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret pneumatic and electrical schematics an asset
  • Must be capable and fluent in spoken / written English as a primary language
  • Must be able to travel within Alberta and parts of the United States. Monday through Friday with some weekends

Must be able to work flexible hours:

  • Mandatory on call support on a rotation basis
  • Must be able lift over 50lbs, be able to squat, bend, reach, work over head, and be on feet for extended periods
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, have ability to work in a team environment
  • Be proficient with basic computer operating system (Microsoft Windows) and Smart phones
  • Valid safety tickets are an asset (WHMIS,CSTS, First Aid, Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platforms and H2S Alive)
