    As an integrated risk management practice leader for Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG), you have cross-sector visibility of all risk management activities across all levels of the organization. You are in charge of managing the activities of the unit's employees and providing them with expert support. You serve as the leading expert and decision-maker for developing integrated risk management practices. In this position, you ensure quality work is completed on time for executive audiences (management committee and board of directors).

    DGIG operates in a fast-changing and increasingly complex environment. The risks DGIG faces are similarly complex and rapidly evolving.     Your key focus areas include creating value for our members and clients, and ensuring pragmatism in our collaborations. This position requires you to work closely with the Chief Risk Officer and provide them with support. Execution of activities requires working closely with DGIG's corporate actuarial and finance teams and with Desjardins Group's other risk management teams.

    General Information on the Position

    Main responsibilities
    • Coordinate your unit's activities for DGIG employees, including the own risk and solvency assessment, the risk appetite framework, the integrated risk management framework and the risk report
    • Ensure the quality and timeliness of DGIG employees' files in your unit
    • Help your unit's employees monitor environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks, reputation risk, strategic risk and culture risk
    • Help your unit's employees develop integrated risk management practices
    • Help your manager with certain management tasks, including performance reviews, hiring and planning
    • Handle highly strategic files to support the Chief Risk Officer, particularly with implementing the 3 lines of defence model at DGIG
    • Ensure that risk management practices are consistent between insurers and Desjardins Group
    • As an integrated risk management expert, advise and assist your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives under your responsibility
    • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives
    • Identify and analyze issues. Report major issues. Diagnose issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
    • Represent your organization before senior management committees and decision-making bodies.

    • Work place: Position located in Lévis, Montréal, Toronto, Mississauga or Aurora, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is flexible hybrid work #LI-Hybrid

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics or statistics
    • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
    • Experience in enterprise risk management (an asset)

    • CAS Fellow or Associate (an asset)
