As a Vendor Sourcing Specialist, you are responsible for supporting the global sourcing strategy and the development process from seasonal kick-off through to production readiness.

The Sourcing Team builds and executes a sustainable global sourcing strategy that enables us to deliver exceptional product at the right place, with the right quality and cost, and on-time.

You will partner internally with Design, Product, Quality, Compliance, Supply Chain, Sustainability as well as externally with our vendor partners to identify and fulfill the sourcing needs of your category and deliver all product developed and commercialized by our vendors.


If you were the Vendor Sourcing Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Researching and assessing new vendors to support sourcing and product strategies
  • Providing product cost evaluation and cost negotiations for new vendors in order to meet and/or exceed cost standards
  • Collecting and maintaining sourcing and vendor information databases and tools
  • Supporting the onboarding of new vendors to ensure their successful integration into the Arc'teryx vendor base
  • Supporting Sourcing, Product Development, and Quality in the training of new factory resources and ensure that Arc'teryx brand standards are met
  • Contributing to the development process by ensuring successful integration of new vendors into the Go To Market calendar
  • Collecting and maintaining data related to vendor performance in order to drive informed decisionmaking and process improvements.
  • Generating regular reports and presentations to share sourcing insights with cross functional teams and senior management.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in the apparel sector

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Conducting thorough research and market analysis to identify potential apparel vendors that align with the company's quality and cost standards
  • Identifying gaps and opportunities within our existing vendor base to drive the expansion of our manufacturing capabilities

Are you our next Vendor Sourcing Specialist?:

  • You have 3+ years' experience in product development (developing product/process) or sourcing with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipment
  • You have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
  • You have experience effectively communicating with, and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
  • You have experience in product costing and negotiation skills
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fit
  • You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process from ideation to consumer
  • You have a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
  • You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills
  • You demonstrate initiative, agility and commitment
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You are goal driven with a resultsoriented attitude
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
