RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Volunteer Coordinator will:

Maintain and implement the volunteer and student recruitment and retention program.
Follow up all inquiries from prospective volunteers and students.
Identify prospective volunteer's skills, areas of interest and time available through the interview process.
Match prospective volunteers with jobs available in Southbridge Roseview.
Evaluate the contribution of the individual volunteer/student or group for purposes of retention.
Identify any additional requirements or desirable changes in volunteer/student contributions.
Keep accurate records of volunteers and students including name, address, phone numbers, volunteer/student position held, awards received and volunteer/student hours.
Develop and implement orientation and skills development sessions for volunteers/students.
Provide regular volunteer recognition.
Contribute to the regular newsletter and activities calendar for residents and families.
Provide mentoring and leadership to the volunteers, students and recreation dept.
Recruit service clubs, other community groups and individuals to assist with major fundraising projects.
Public relations managing the Southbridge Roseview Facebook page.
Complete ongoing 1:1 visits with residents to familiarize yourself with their needs and interests.
Department meetings/Interdisciplinary committees/ colead accreditation.
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working as a Volunteer Coordinator and/or working with volunteers desired
Experience working in Long Term Care is desired
Ability to present information clearly and effectively whether in person, on telephone or in group presentations
Strong leadership skills
Strong organization, planning, time management and multitasking skills
