We are currently seeking a qualified
Maintenance Laborer for
Private/Personal residential properties located around the Halifax Regional Municipality.

This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, service, repair and general up keep for private/personal residential properties. They are also responsible for tasks as assigned. They are responsible for performing their job in a safe and efficient manner.

The Maintenance/ Labor worker will be capable of performing basic trade related tasks and minor repairs in accordance with industry standards and practices, such as carpentry, painting, cleaning and manual labor as assigned.

Essential Functions

Display a comprehensive knowledge of general maintenance to residential homes and perform tasks including, paint touch ups, minor carpentry repairs, installing fixtures, assembling furniture etc.
Perform routine landscaping, mowing, gardening, and maintaining exterior of residential properties.
Consistently cleaning up and leaving spaces you entered cleaner than when you arrived.
Carry out routine cleaning for a small pool and hot tub.
Take care of weekly cleaning, washing, waxing and maintenance for a private boat.
Maintain a residential wharf and dock.
Overseeing, booking, and following up on contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Organizing and scheduling routine service for vehicles.
Look after cleaning, washing and vacuuming vehicles.
Handle the odd job such as supporting picking up 2 large dogs, delivering or picking up materials and equipment, transporting furniture etc.
Communicate each day's activities with executive assistant
Ensure all materials and equipment are maintained and stored properly.
Actively engage and promote safety and safe work practices.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Always maintain high level of confidentiality of proprietary information
Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience:

Must be currently living in the Halifax Municipality
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Skilled background with basic carpentry/tools.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge in basic carpentry and maintenance.
Must have a valid driver licence.
Must be able to provide a criminal record check.

Physical requirements:

Extra / after hours sometimes required.

Some heavy work

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand be on your feet during long periods of time.

Job Types:

Base Salary:
$55,000 to $60,000 based on experience and qualifications

Pay:
$55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
