Families 1st has been operating specialized, community homes in Ontario for many years for adult individuals with
complex special needs who are often
dual diagnosed.
We are searching for an experienced
Area Manager to provide support and guidance to staff and clients at multiple programs.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Completion of a relevant 2year college program (SSW, DSW)
- Minimum 5 years experience in the field; 2 years supervisory experience
- Completion or willingness to complete a Certification in Safe Management Group Crisis Intervention (SMG)
- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and direct staff in a positive manner
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use discretion in a fast paced, residential treatment setting
- Sound crisis management skills
- G-Class driver's license, valid insurance, and a reliable vehicle
- Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR level C
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector police records check and preemployment medical screening (required prior to commencement of employment)
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of current Quality Assurance legislations (QAM)
- Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID19
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the daytoday operational of assigned programs, providing leadership, coaching, constructive feedback, direction and support to the staff teams and the supervisors
- Attend at the programs and provide a presence in the home to ensure programs are meeting company standards as it relates to administration, client care and the physical plant of the home
- Attend parent meetings, sessions with therapists, school conferences etc. as required
- Complete spot checks when visiting the homes to ensure plans are being followed by staff on a daily basis and that clients are engaged in meaningful activities
- Directly manage Supervisors ensuring effective and appropriate staffing and program delivery at each residence
- Ongoing engagement with staff to allow for opportunities for open communication and feedback; invest in the overall well being of the staff teams
- Provide ongoing coaching mentoring and support to the Supervisor and to staff when in the home; report staff issues to the Director
- Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate documentation, daily reports, logbooks and data sheets, time sheets, payroll records, and attendance records
- Ensure programs are operating within the fiscal budget; submit expenditures in a timely manner
- Complete various checks/audits in the programs; review reports and identify risk areas or actionable items

$65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
