Work Arrangement:

Onsite - You'll work primarily from an ATB branch, corporate office or client location, with some remote flexibility.


Reporting to the Head of Credit Adjudication,
the Managing Director, Agricultural Credit is responsible for leadership of the Agricultural Credit adjudication team with overall responsibility for the quality of the primary agricultural and agribusiness loan portfolios.

As a leader, this individual is expected to be a role model as it relates to the ATB IDs and Leader DNA and help further the advancement of ATB on the path to 2030


Role Accountabilities:


  • Lead a team of credit adjudicators responsible for the review, assessment and management of credit risk derived from lending into the primary agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
  • Review, decision, recommend and provide oversight of client transactions through exercise of delegated lending authority.
  • Oversee staff development and monitor performance standards while providing coaching, mentoring and training to support the growth of team members and the department.
  • Builds and maintains a mastery level of knowledge in credit risk, with a focus on agriculture, thereby facilitating sound credit decisions through independent assessment and effective challenge.
  • Supports organizational processes and programs for mitigation of credit risk, including oversight of adherence to lending programs, provision of underwriting guidance and coaching.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Agriculture sales and underwriting leaders and teams, fulfilling Credit's value proposition of being a competitive advantage.
  • Contribute to and support development, implementation and maintenance of sound credit processes that supports the growth, profitability, stability and credit quality goals of ATB Financial.
  • Actively contribute to the direction, management and oversight of the Credit adjudication department operations as a whole, including acting as a key point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support enterprise initiatives through direct participation, or via team, on committees, projects or working groups as required.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership and foster a positive work environment, within the credit adjudication team and across the organization.

Requirements:


Competencies / Skill Sets Required:


  • Credit risk management experience across a broad spectrum of sectors and sizes of exposures. Direct experience with primary agriculture and agribusiness lending is considered an asset.
  • Ability to assess macro and micro developments and trends for the impact on credit risk.
  • Sound knowledge of financial institution policies, controls, technologies, information systems, and regulations.
  • Proven success as a leader within the banking industry.
  • Ability to build relationships, liaise and effectively communicate with staff, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical, resultsoriented and innovative mindset.
  • Discretion and good judgment.

Designations / Education / Prerequisites:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Risk Management or other related field.
  • Continued education / certification (MBA, CFA, CA, CPA etc.) or equivalent level of experience.
