Reporting to the Human Resources Assistant Manager and under the general direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator will assist with the administration of the employee relations function from recruiting and onboarding new positions to inputting of new hire information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system.

They will act as a resource to the Human Resources Assistant Manager, the Human Resources Officers and Human Resources Operations staff.


Key job accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinates employee relations and staff hiring for teaching, administration and support positions by:
Assisting with coordinating the staffing of vacancies and transfers

Assisting with preparing interview packages for new hires to ensure compliance with legislation and EDI framework initiatives

Assisting in Performance Appraisal processes and development of performance management system for all groups

Participating in the interview process as required

Preparing and distributing human resource documents such as Employment opportunities and other postings as required by collective agreements, etc.

Assisting with staffing process improvements and initiatives to attract high performing talent

Coordinating and participating in job fairs as required

Supporting other aspects of employee relations as required


Provides salary administration support by:

Entering employee information in K212 during peak periods

Liaising with other departments as required (payroll, LT etc.)

Supporting Leave and Benefits Administrators as required (leave allocations etc.)

Inputting entries in ATE and filing records


Performs administrative tasks by:

Assisting HR Officers in liaising with federal and provincial agencies (ie., Employment and Immigration Canada, Ministry of Education, College of Teachers, etc.)

Liaising with superintendents, managers, principals, and staff at all levels of the organization

Assisting with compliance and interpretation of Collective Agreements and other employment agreements

Participating in meetings and implementing results as required

Determining priorities to meet deadlines set out in collective agreements

Preparing spreadsheets and reports as required


Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Human Resources designation and/or College diploma in Human Resources Management preferred however equivalent education and experience may also be considered

3-4 years of relevant human resources and/or administration experience

Demonstrate a high degree of management, conflict resolution and customer service skills

Experience with presenting as well as excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

A high degree of initiative and ability to make independent decisions with mínimal supervision is required

This position has an annual range of $61,219 - $69,189.

The approximate start date of this full time (1.0 FTE) permanent position will be September 5, 2023. An employee benefits and pension package are also provided.
