We are currently looking for motivated, hands‑on students As a Paterson Grain Summer Student, you will serve as part of the daily operations, marketing and administrative team at a Paterson Grain location. Reporting to the Location Manager, you will assist and shadow various staff, ensuring quality in the handling and delivery of Paterson Grain products and services.

What You'll Do

• Assist with facility operations regarding fertilizer and crop protection products
• Assist with general maintenance, facility functions and limitations, truck unloading, rail car shipping, and grain cleaning
• Maintain safe and effective handling of fertilizer, chemicals, seeds, and other product inventories in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines
• Organise the chemical shed weekly for better visibility of inventory movement
• Keep accurate inventory data and record loadouts and invoices in AGRE
• Assist administration with customer service and processing of grain purchases, contracts and general reports
• Understand the ISO 22000 food safety program as it relates to customers and operations
• Learn and understand safety requirements for operational procedures
• Understand quality control factors and how they relate to binning and shipping procedures
• Support the Logistics Coordinator in organising farm deliveries with required shipments
• Work closely with the Marketing Manager on commodity contracting, customer relations and competitive programmes in the area
• Establish and maintain demonstration plots and assist in conducting customer tours
• Deliver chemicals and seeds to and from other Paterson Grain facilities
• Independently conduct field scouting activities and enter data into record‑keeping software
• Assist with planning and organising summer events: BBQ and Customer Relations
• Operate a forklift to load products into farm trucks and unload products into the facility
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or diploma in Ag Business, Agronomy, or a related discipline
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn day‑to‑day business operations
• Farming/agricultural background considered an asset
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence

This position is available to students still enrolled in school and to students graduating in 2026 who are seeking a full‑time role and wish to gain exposure and experience.
