Description

New Flyer is North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader and offers the most advanced product line under the Xcelsior and Xcelsior CHARGE brands.

It also offers infrastructure development through NFI Infrastructure Solutions, a service dedicated to providing safe, sustainable, and reliable charging and mobility solutions.

***Responsible for overall applied technical product support as assigned. This includes acceptance and in-field service for bus deliveries to our customers, including implementation of company policies, assisting in warranty situations, completing retrofits, training, gathering product failure information, and keeps general customer liaison. Reports to Field Operations Supervisor and RPSM. Working and learning with a full 310T field service technician.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

-
Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining New Flyer buses
:

Perform retrofit work while assisting suppliers in troubleshooting issues
:

-
Learn to use various diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
:

Observe and follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
:

-
Participate in training programs and courses to expand knowledge and skills in the field of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance
:

Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed
:

Communicate the status of assignments daily:

-
Maintain tracking documents
:

-
Make sure all repairs are documented and closed in the Service Cloud
:

-
Learn to use all software to complete daily job.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:


  • High school diploma, Trade school or equivalent.
  • Started apprentice program or close to finish the apprentice program.
  • Strong interest in technicians and a desire to pursue a career in heavyduty vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in vehicle maintenance.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks.
  • Prior experience in the automotive or transportation industry (preferred but not required.
