The Data and Artificial Intelligence Risk (DAIR) team is looking for a highly motivated change agent who demonstrates integrity, drive and courage to contribute to the design and execution of the DAIR management program plan.
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for driving and supporting data and AI risk related oversight activities and have opportunity to work with a collaborative team of inspiring professionals to help deliver the Enterprise DAIR Program objectives.
What you'll do in this role?
- Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Data & AI Risk Program Plan and associated activities in the assigned North American and/or International Scotiabank business unit(s), and/or subsidiaries
- Identify opportunities and execute enhancements to the data risk oversight practice
- Contribute to the endtoend automation of reports, and streamline tools aiming EUCs standards compliance
- Assess the effectiveness of data controls developed and implemented by the first line of defense
- Support and maintain Data & AI Risk governance documentation and tools (e.g., EUCs, procedures, assessments, testing and reporting)
- Assist in execution of the periodical and adhoc reporting to the Board, CRO, Risk Committees, including collection of metrics and creation of dashboards and reports
- Provide advice on the design and best practices of effective Data & AI Risk controls, metrics, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Develop strong partnership with other risk functions and business partners to provide professional advice and guidelines for data and AI risk mitigation
- Contribute to the effective challenge of assessments, review findings and conduct analysis of the remediation plans in a timely manner
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment, and prioritize team's goals
What we're looking for?
- Post-Secondary education completed. Advanced degree preferred but not mandatory
- 3+ years experience in data management, data governance, internal control, risk management, compliance, audit and/or related areas
- Knowledge of database platforms, ETLs and reporting/BI tools preferred
- Strong analytical and pragmatic problemsolving skills
- Adaptability and ability to manage ambiguity
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation and facilitation skills
- Curious and proactive learner able to solve complex problems, multitask and manage changing priorities
