The GIS CAD Technician is responsible for providing, for internal and external customers, a variety of spatial data services including drafting, GIS, records maintenance, plotting, scanning and research.

The incumbent performs a variety of GIS projects intended to improve access to, and the quality of, spatial data at the Port.


The GIS CAD Technician will:

  • Be responsible for the regular updating and reconciliation of land inventories in GIS, working with the Real Estate department to ensure that the information stored in Real Estate system is as accurate and up to date as possible.
  • Prepare, collect and input data for various Port systems, including GIS Real Estate and Engineering Department Document Index (EDDI).
  • Prepare a variety of plans from a wide variety of source material, revising Port mapping as required.
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of drawings and records related to Port infrastructure and assets as required.
  • Carry out research related to historical records.
