The Role:
The Community Services Branch delivers programs and services in person, to clients in communities across the province.


The
Assistant Supervisor is actively involved in planning, organizing, and evaluating the delivery of a broad range of programs and services to efficiently and effectively utilize Ministry resources and meet the needs of citizens, the community and the province.

Service Delivery Division provides income and disability assistance services online, by phone, or face to face in our communities.

Job Requirements:


  • Completed a postsecondary program in Social Services, Public Administration, Business Administration, and 2 years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience working in a social service environment.

Related Experience must include all of the following:

  • Leading staff in a high volume, rapidly changing customer service environment, through activities such as coaching, evaluating performance, providing direction to employees, orienting/training, and scheduling.
  • Experience using analytics to monitor performance.
  • Providing services to citizens from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to, citizens with mental and physical health issues including substance use issues, and citizens who may be in crisis, impacted by trauma, and displaying frustration.
  • Planning, directing, monitoring, organizing, assessing and/or controlling of the resources of an organization.

Preferences:

  • Experience working in the community with citizens and community partners.

About this Position:

An eligibility list may be established and will be used exclusively by the Community Services Branch.

Successful applicants would be required to physically work in the location posted, and would not be eligible to be placed elsewhere in the province by virtue of this competition.

The Service Delivery Division provides a flexible work environment with many unique benefits, including a scheduled day off every two weeks.

This position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
