We provide services to individuals, businesses, Indigenous, and not-for-profit organizations in and around central Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
We are seeking a CPA student to join our team in a full-time permanent position.
Working at McIntosh Norton Williams allows employees to gain a wide variety of experience in all aspects of accounting, assurance, and taxation.
We still consider our firm small, which allows staff access to Partners and Senior staff and a more in depth view of the engagements.

Qualifications and Experience
- Recently completed Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree.
- Commitment to continuing the Chartered Professional Accountants education and experience requirements.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, problemsolving skills.
- Customer service oriented.
- Positive attitude, motivated, with a strong work ethic.
- Time management skills and ability to meet assignment and project deadlines, sometimes under tight time constraints.
- Experience working with computerized accounting and/or tax software such as Sage 50, Quickbooks, Caseware, and TaxCycle would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of computers including effective use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
Included but not limited to:
- Preparing personal and corporate tax returns.
- Preparing compilation, review, and audit engagements.
- Work with accounting software to complete bookkeeping and provide training and support to clients.
- Prepare and file government remittances and filings.
- Assist with tax research and communicate with CRA as an authorized representative for clients regarding assessments, information requests, and instalment payments.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
