HSO is pleased to work collaboratively with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and other First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities from across the country to co-lead this work.
Together we are striving to strengthen the capacity to respond to Indigenous-specific racism and provide culturally safe, respectful, and racism-free healthcare services.
- The Project Coordinator role is primarily responsible for coordinating the Canadian Accreditation activities of the project, aligned with the overall project work plan, supporting the capacity of the involved CA Directors, the B.C. Client Engagement Team, and client uptake of the BC CSH assessment standard and culturally safe and appropriate methods and resources for selfassessment.
Responsibilities
- You will lead the project coordination to achieve the following deliverables leading up to and following from the completion of the Assessment Ready Standard:
- Co-design data governance strategy and plan (aligned with OCAP)
- Codesign surveyor competencies and accreditation team/infrastructure needs team composition, people and resources required for assessing cultural safety and codesigning surveyor recruitment and training materials and methods.
- Codesign recruitment, training materials and methods for ongoing education for surveyors.
- Codesign, with FNHA and CA input, internal and external communication and engagement plan for Accreditation Canada client engagement team and clients using an ADCAR change management strategy: material, learning, orientation, launch approach, implementation strategy, plan and options.
- Gather client organization feedback to inform the "What We Heard & Recommendations Report".
- Prepare a final "What We Heard & Recommend: Cultural Safety & Humility Implementation Scoping Report".
Your Primary responsibility is to design, implement and monitor the CA workplan.
- Coordinates CA input to the codesigning, developing and testing an Indigenousled BC CSH assessment standard and culturally safe and appropriate methods and resources for selfassessment by Accreditation Canada client organizations in BC: tool kit, survey to client organizations, final what we heard.
- Communicates and manages project expectations to crossorganization team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Oversees project resource planning, resource allocation and management to achieve project goals.
- Conducts full project life cycle planning, monitoring, control and documentation including, but not limited to, development and delivery of progress reports, issue, risk and decision management and escalation, creation of project deliverables such as project charters, project management plan, work breakdown structure (WBS), status reports, presentations, and project turnover documents.
- Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Ensuring project plan(s) with defined project deliverables are properly scoped, documented and resourced with high quality from the start. This includes developing and tracking progress and risks against a welldefined project work plan following a project management approach/principle.
- Providing critical thinking and content development support and leadership, either through direct content development and/or in partnership with Subject Matter Expert and team members, to ensure content aligns with HSO approaches and glossary and when applicable, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for developing standards and learning resources.
- Facilitating decisionmaking process including providing advice and guidance to team members and key stakeholders when decisions or options are required.
