Description:

As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you will coordinate the daily operations of the service area.

This includes organizing and coordinating all technical and daily work activities for your team of Diagnostic Sonographer Is and other health care providers, ensuring that ultrasound services are available and operating at an optimum level.

In addition, you will handle patient and staff complaints and problems related to services, maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for the area, assist in research, development, maintenance and evaluation of Sonography programs and services and assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:


Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program.

Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Credentialed with Sonography Canada. BCLS Certification. A minimum of three years' work experience as a Technologist in Ultrasound. A minimum of 2 years working in an acute care setting preferred. Courses in supervision or leadership desired. Previous supervisory/management experience desired. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, computer and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated interest in professional growth. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and Physicians. Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
