POSITION:

Full-time Hourly Drafter/CAD Technologist

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of figures and site diagrams for Environmental focused projects within our Conservation and Reclamation (C&R), Regulatory and Liability (R&L), and Assessment and Remediation (A&R) business lines.
  • Following established industry standards for AutoCAD users.
  • Accessing and reviewing Aerial photographs for presentation.
  • Preparing site location maps using standard mapping software, aerial photographs, or other available resources.
  • Preparing report figures for environmental reports as needed.
  • Supporting in the preparation of Phase 1, 2 and 3 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), Groundwater Monitoring Reports, and compilation of Reclamation Certificate Applications where required.
  • Database management and integration of geological and groundwater modelling software (Leapfrog, MODFLOW) and CAD-GIS platforms.
  • Preparing crosssections and geological/hydrogeologic maps using a variety of data file formats exported from modelling software programs.
  • Conducting basic GIS interpretation and mapping using GPS coordinates, GISreferenced aerial photos, and appropriate mapping software.
The individual's strengths and experience will be considered, and projects will be allocated appropriately by either supervisors or managers.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Diploma in Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Design, or GIS Technology.
  • Outstanding fluency and skills within the AutoCAD Program.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Map 3D.
  • Proficiency in the use of Arc GIS software (an asset).
  • Proficient in setting up templates and standards for figures/mapping.
  • Experience with AEP/AER wetland shapefile creations, species at risk mapping, wetland mapping and contours/drainage.
  • Familiar with Canadian and Albertan geospatial data sources.
  • Familiarity with GeoDiscover and GIS layers.
  • 15 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Proficiency in Adobe products.
