Reporting to the Associate Manager, Training & Development Specialists are responsible for training and developing new and existing staff (both large and small group facilitation), creating and maintaining training material as well as project work.


What you will do

  • Member of T&D Team, responsible for training and development of new and existing staff on products and processes for Canada Life and Great-West Life Insurance
  • Provide timeline/outline for training sessions
  • Monitor/assess existing staff for product/process knowledge
  • Remotely/virtually and in person facilitation for group sessions and oneonone training
  • Design, maintain and revise/update training material such as: job aids, product and job aid modules and training plan
  • Negotiate process changes with business partners and effectively communicate changes to staff members
  • Coordinate/manage line of business projects affecting the Client Service Centre
  • Provide business support
  • Project work
  • Foster a positive atmosphere to maintain high morale within team and Client Service Centre
  • Support and sponsorship of management decisions

What you will bring

  • Background in Canada Life and Great-West Life insurance is a requirement
  • An understanding of adult learning principles and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of elearning authoring tools
  • Knowledge of SharePoint would be an asset
  • Proven ability in assessing training needs, developing training recommendations, designing and evaluating programs
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative approaches and solutions
  • Facilitation/design experience considered an asset
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Strong team player, acts with integrity
  • Selfmotivated, can work independently
