The key accountabilities of the Logistics Specialist will include the following:

  • Handle Import/Export freight files from A to Z.
  • Problem solving skills and good judgement.
  • Read, monitor and respond promptly to all incoming communications in order to properly manage and control daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all CBSA, Transport Canada and other relevant government regulations.
  • Communicate clearly, timely and effectively with customers, overseas offices, agents, customs brokers and domestic vendors.
  • Verification of OBL & Payment requirements prior to shipment release.
  • Shipment delivery arrangements and planning.
  • Guaranteeing and billing of storage/demurrage for approved accounts.
  • Responsible for efficiently resolving customer complaints and implement measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence.
  • Other tasks and duties may also be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • 35 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and verbal skills in English and French.
  • Familiarity with CBSA procedures.
  • Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, critical, and problemsolving skills.
